FABLE KING
Being king sounds simple.
Keep the kingdom fed. Keep the treasury full. Keep an army strong enough to scare away anyone who gets ideas. And, if possible, keep the people happy.
Of course, things rarely go according to plan.
A good harvest can save the kingdom. A bad winter can empty your granaries. A strange magical event can turn everything upside down. Sometimes you will have enough gold but no food. Sometimes you will have an army but no money to pay it. And sometimes the people will be perfectly happy while the kingdom quietly falls apart.
As the ruler, you decide what to do.
Spend your gold. Gather food. Strengthen the army. Use magic. Deal with unexpected events. Every decision has consequences, and there is usually no perfect answer.
Your kingdom is full of strange creatures, troublesome problems and opportunities that may or may not be worth the price.
Rule wisely. Or don't.
Just remember that someone has to deal with the consequences.
And that someone is you.
Rule your kingdom, make choices, master magic, and try not to lose your crown.
